i always consider halloween to be one of my favorite holidays, but i forget that in reality it just stresses me out.

I have no idea what to be as the bert and ernie costumes Jenna and I had orginally planned for proved to be more difficult than expected.

i kind of just want to go out of town to some unreal place that isn't celebrating halloween this year.

So i've been officially in Williamsburg for 3 weeks now. It's taking me the whole 3 weeks to get adjusted and start to really enjoy it here. It's an extremely different type of town than i've ever lived in, and even though there's a college here (William and Mary) there isn't much of a college scene at all. I've been to all 3 bars the town offers, which technically are called deli's because "bar" is too controversial.

The people here are interesting. Some people think way too highly of themselves because they got into the "best small public ivy". Meeting these people make me much happier that i chose to go to a big, somewhat questionable university where i truly got real life expierences and wasn't babied through school.

The fieldschool i'm helping with is interesting. One half is athletes, football players mostly. Apparently the professor (who's in Bermuda for the week even though he should be teaching) cut a deal with the dean of W&M so that if athletes needed to raise their GPA's, get credits, etc. they could take the field school and recieve an easy A. So they do, and they are idiots. Most of the time we're attempting to run damage control because their size 17 feet are crumbling walls. We've had to resort to making them "move" the backdirt pile. They are nice guys however, some even with the famed southern charm, they just could care less about archaeology.

There's a law here that forbids more than 3 un-related people to live together in one house/apt, so technically right now i'm living in an illegal brothel.

So my friend's are in a band, Taft. They took it upon themselves to write a song about me. It's midly offensive, but also completely truthful.

In a bizarre twist of events my mom has decided to cancel Christmas.

I really have no idea what to do tonight. Or tomorrow.

I hate the idea of going to the movies.
Why do people want to sit in darkness side by side for 2 hours in uncomfortable seats?
It barely even counts as hanging out since you can only converse for about 10 minutes before and after the movie.

So i went to Bells for the first time tonight, and i have just got to say that i have never seen so many full outdoorsey beards in my entire life. The place was just full of guys with extravagant facehair and i loved it.  Full beards for a full expierence,

So apparently my 50 year old bosses read my LJ because out of nowhere today when i went into work i got promoted.

I got a nice fat raise.
